Man Sells His Rental Home in Con Game

A conman tried to steal 2 million pounds by selling two homes he was renting in Britain’s most expensive areas, the Kensington and Knightbridge area of West London.
Steven Rice used false names to rent two expensive homes to gain access to them. Adopting his landlord’s identity he showed the properties and attempted to sell them. He sold one home for 1.47 million pounds and tried to get a remortgage loan on the second home for 500,000 pounds. He was caught when he tried to move money to Dubai and the bank’s staff identified his fake identification. During the course of the investigation into this case police discovered Rice had attempted to secure a loan on a 4 million pound home in Knightsbridge. Rice owns a yacht company in London.
