Home Seller Confidence Increased in June

Connells Survey and Valuation, a nationwide property valuation service reported a surge in seller confidence in June. Their report shows a 20 per cent rise in valuations as compared with last year. The increase in the number of homes made available for sale has helped boost the overall number of sales as the market has a wider variety of choices available to buyers.

First-time buyer volumes increased a mere 1 per cent in June compared with the same numbers in 2009. Volumes for remortgages soared by 30 per cent on May numbers. This is an increase of 53 per cent when compared to last year. It shows that more homeowners are looking to remortgage before interest rates rise or to free up cash funds available in built equity.

There was also a reported increase on the number of valuations for buy-to-let investors. The increase was due in part to the increasing number of homeowners looking to move to other properties.
