UK Mortgage Brokers Focus on Meeting Objectives of Clients
The UK contains approximately 11.3 million mortgage loan holders within its borders. Approximately 40% of those claim they will choose not to consult a broker when they attempt to remortgage. Due to the ability of mortgage and remortgage brokers to create opportunities outside those of the typical high street lender, this percentage is surprising. Brokers not only provide outside the box opportunities, they have the ability to educate borrowers in a completely unbiased fashion.
The director of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, Robert Sinclair, discussed the role of brokers as it relates to education, saying: “There is a discernible gulf between the needs of many borrowers and the reality of what is being offered by high-street lenders. Such is the dearth in appropriate products that more people need better advice and a wider choice and this represents a vast pool of potential business for brokers.
“Brokers need to educate the consumer and be more proactive if they are to turn this latent demand into new business. The mortgage market isn’t suddenly going to spring back to pre-down turn levels so it’s up to brokers to make the most of the opportunities out there.”
Brokers have the unique ability to analyze the financial possibilities for each and every household. Since brokers are more concerned with finding the best mortgage or remortgage product for each client who they consult, they spend their time understanding the goals and meeting the requirements of clients versus just making the sale of a product.
