Remortgage Goals Expected to be at Top of List for Homeowners
The New Year is just around the corner and while many are more focused on preparing for winter weather and making shopping lists for the holiday season, there is one thing that is expected to soon find its way to the top of the to-do list of homeowners. Remortgaging is expected to become a priority for homeowners as the year comes to a close and a new one begins.
There is still much uncertainty as to what the economy of 2019 will shape to become, but one thing is for certain and that is no one wants to pay more than they have to when it comes to mortgage repayments. Since repayments are often the largest monthly expense item on a household budget, it makes sense to examine ways to save money and that could happen with a remortgage.
There are still very attractive deals on the market despite the most recent rate hike by the Bank of England. In fact, there is a strong possibility that lenders will be putting out deals to try and gain the attention of homeowners throughout the holiday season. Winter is a slow time for mortgage lending and because there are so many homeowners that have yet to take advantage of remortgaging, it is likely that lenders will seek to make offers in remortgaging to increase lending levels while home buyers stay away.
Starting out in 2019 with a greater financial safety net will be on the minds of many and for homeowners a remortgage could be the answer to making that a reality and not just a thought.
