Northampton Property Now Hottest on the Market
There is no secret that demand for homes across the UK is at a feverish pace. At the other end of the spectrum sits the shortage of housing which is present and has been present for years now, with expectations that it will worsen over time. House sales have slowed a bit over the last few months, but in Northampton property sales are quite hot. The current number of days before a house goes under offer is only 27.
When most people think of hot real estate, they first consider all the hot properties which must be selling quickly in the capital city of London. That has been the case for many years. Now, however times have changed. There is a new leader when it comes to houses selling quickly – Northampton.
Milton Keynes and Croydon are not far behind Northampton with a time frame of just more than a month before selling. The overall UK average of houses selling from the market is 47 days.
Those seeking a property are not facing the same opportunities however that current house owners have available to them. In particular, the remortgage deals which are now on the table are quite advantageous when looking at the fine details. Many deals from top lenders are able to save significant amounts of pounds off the cost of the monthly mortgage payment. This could potentially come to an end soon due to the possibility of interest rates rising sooner rather than later.
Lawrence Hall, a spokesman for Zoopla, commented on the latest market data, saying: “Whether you're a first time or seasoned property seller, one thing that is impossible to predict is the timing of the first offer on your home.
“The national average period between listing a home for sale and achieving an offer is well under two months at 47 days, while sellers in Northampton can expect an offer in an average of just 27 days.”
Hall added: “Regardless of where you are selling, giving your home a bit of TLC and enlisting the help of a good estate agent with knowledge of the local market, is likely to help your sale.”
